Domestic Science is a series that began by documenting and questioning my role as family historian when my mother handed me a box of old clothing of mine she was 'saving for me'. Shortly after I received these cute artifacts we began the process of cleaning out my Grandmother's home for her transition into assisted living. Questions of what to keep, what to discard and how objects can retain a memory kept surfacing. I realized, of course, that I am not alone in this struggle to hold on to memorabilia or to question what objects become the next generations stories and artifacts. I began domestic science as a way to sift through memories, record objects then move on.
