I teach a variety of classes and workshops and firmly believe that art should be a part of everyone's life, no matter your social-economic status. I have lead workshops in at-risk youth centers, day care facilities, out-treatment patient centers and created a 6 week art program for a maximum security women's prison in Willimington, DE. Currently, I work at an Independent School in Upstate, NY; prior to re-locating to upstate NY, I was Assistant Professor/Foundations Program Coordinator at Marshall University in Huntington, WV
Although workshops and classes vary in medium and student ability, every class I teach engages the student in thoughtful, challenging activities. Projects involve collaborative problem solving, critical thinking exercises, creative exploration and developing a confidence with materials. Of course students will learn art principals and design basics, but I love to push art into different areas and look for unexpected outcomes.
